Introduction
A Specter is haunting the globe, the specter of a nuclear world war. Experts in international relations who know, due to lifelong studies, the trouble points and bones of contention among the nations, scholars of Christian and Jewish faiths who know the biblical prophecies, and knowledgeable Islamic leaders such as Dr. Safar Al-Hawali and Maudoodi – all agree on one thing, (in spite of their obvious differences in sources of obtaining the truth) that the middle east is already in a great turmoil ready to engulf the globe into a bloody confrontation unparalleled in human history.
We Muslims alone have the privilege to know and believe the prophetic forecast of Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the upcoming tribulations. Should the widely predicted holocaust arrive today, tomorrow or in the near future, should every Muslim be mentally prepared to face the catastrophe? Should not we convey this warning to others?
The media coverage reflects that if it is not prejudice and distortion, surely it is the most deplorable lack of knowledge in the West about the message of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The single most important challenge facing the western media is, whether it applies the same rigor of investigation that has taken man to the moon, to examine the claim of the Prophet (PBUH) objectively.
The writer of this concise essay, fully aware of his limitations, invites scholars, activists, clergies, and concerned humanists to extend their efforts on this universally important problem. It is hoped that the reader can rise above the slanderous misrepresentation of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to objectively consider how his massage illuminates the entangled Middle Eastern events that are thrusting us headlong into nuclear war.
